Beautiful from the inside out

Have you ever awoke with crisp white linen sheets wrapped around you?  The windows opened just a crack to let in a soft breeze and a peek of sunshine.  All around you are delicate objects that have been placed purposefully on tables and on the walls hang photos framed in works of art.  You especially love the way the wall mirror adds space and dimension to your room.  You look around and think to yourself, "I don't want to leave this room."  If you have then you know just how wonderful a beautifully accessorized home can make you feel.

Well it just so happens that I'm in the business of helping people accessorize their homes and making their homes beautiful from the inside out.  Accessorizing is important because it gives it that finishing touch and fills the voids throughout.  By adding small touches you can create a beautiful room filled with conversation pieces.  (We'll talk more about what a conversation piece is in my next blog.)  Adding a vase with flowers to your accent table can brighten up a drab corner and give it life.  Decorative bookends help organize and keep your library of books in order while adding a bit of character to the shelf.  the bottom line is when it comes to your home the most important thing is that you love it and are comfortable in it. Take the time and make it beautiful from the inside out.

Effortless Transformations

It doesn't take a lot to transform a boring and uninviting room into a room with warmth and style.  It could be as simple as changing out throw pillows to add more color or swapping out old lamps for newer more stylish ones.  You can replace old window treatments or add a large wall mirror to give a room a more open look.   Think about all the clutter that ends up on coffee tables, try to use a decorative tray for your magazines or decorative box to house your remotes.   Remember you don't have to replace everything all at once in order to create a warm and inviting room.  Start with a few little things a little at a time and you'll be on your way to an effortless transformation.

LAMPS....MOOD AND ART

Whatever happened to the use of lamps?  Lamps can kill many birds with one stone (just a figure of speech for bird lovers).   First, the lighting from a lamp provides a soothing mood to any room.  I personally do not like bright overhead lights, unless I am cooking in my kitchen.
You can also find some hot looking lamps that can change a drab room to something fabulous.  The lamp serves as a piece of art.
Finally, if you need to fill a space or provide height to a corner, add a lamp.   I personally cannot live without them.
Here’s a couple of my favorite lamps you can find at www.pinkdoordecor.com
